    We’ve been hard at work for the past few months on a major rewrite of our Chrome Extension to improve the performance and reliability of it while also improving how the extension works when opening files. This is a big change, and addresses the biggest complaint we hear from districts trying to roll out the Kami Extension: “why has Kami hijacked my PDFs”.     Today we’re announcing a big new update to Kami, with a whole lot of new features and fixes.     Kami Launches Automatic Google Drive Saving

    Today we are happy to announce that we’re rolling out our most-requested feature ever: Automatic saving of your annotations to Google Drive! We’ve always saved your annotations securely within Kami as you made them (and we sync them immediately to your collaborator’s screens also), and now we will also automatically save these changes into the PDF file on Google Drive. We’re also launching a new Sync menu, which will show you the status of your file, and when the changes were last saved to Kami or Google Drive.     Update: New Privacy Features in Notable PDF

    Today we’re launching new privacy controls and the ability to share comments with different groups of people. When you open documents, you’ll see a icon at the top right, which allows you to switch between different tracked copies of the document. Annotations made within each copy are only visible within that copy, and can be shared separately. There are two kinds of copies: Google Drive copies and Local File copies. Google Drive copies are created when you open a file from Google Drive. Comments made within this copy are automatically shared with people who you have shared the file with on Google Drive – People who get the file from somewhere else won’t…
